Rocky Mountain National Park: Bear Lake

Snow in June? We don't have that in my neck of the woods down here in the deep south. But this recent vacation picture is of Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park Colorado. The trail around the lake is easily accessible and incredibly beautiful despite the multitude of tourists. I didn't see any bears at the lake but we did spot one in Littleton CO earlier in the week during a local event called "T-Bone Tuesday".

I was recently at the massive REI store in Denver CO where I noticed this heavily fortified Starbucks sign on the side of the building. A closer inspection will reveal the upturned nails protruding from every millimeter of the sign and the protruding brickwork on the outside wall. The nails keep the winged bastards from shitting on the building but the birds still lurk in the trees and on the patio furniture....watching.....waiting for any crumb from the ginger molasses cookie to hit the ground. Then they strike.
