Two little bits of Elvis in Cornelia Georgia

Yesterday I took the small child to the Loudermilk Boarding House Museum in Cornelia Georgia. This place is home to BOTH the Maybe Elvis Toenail and The Elvis Wart. The museum is owned and operated by local artist Joni Mabe who is pictured here with the small child. This place has to be seen to be believed! I believe that framed on the walls here is EVERY SINGLE Weekly World News or National Enquirer "article" written about the king since his untimely demise along with thousands of pieces of memorabilia and many original works of Elvis inspired art by the owner. Here is a link to the online gift shop.

Oh, the body parts I mentioned - they are on display in test tubes and are under glass lest anyone be tempted to make off with the artifacts. looks like a toenail clipping and a wart to me.

The museum has been written up on roadsideamerica.com and was recently featured on a local Georgia PBS show.

Great destination for a small roadtrip! Fender's Diner is a couple of blocks away and has burgers and hot dogs. I didn't see any fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches so maybe the madness is just contained to the limits of the boarding house... except on occasions when something like this is going on.

As Mojo the Prophet said, "there's a little bit of Elvis in everyone", so it has come to pass that there is now a bit O' extra Elvis in the small child. And THAT, my friend, is a good thing.
